Client: Hilti – construction services
and power tool hire.
Job specification: to design and construct display and hire stores
in empty units in Belfast and Dublin.
Timescale: three months
Tomax response:
- Designed a management plan with built-in
health and safety elements.
- Discussed brief with contract administrator.
- Constructed all interior walls and suspended
ceilings, including the adaptation of a mezzanine floor to incorporate
fireproofing and a fire exit that would meet all building regulations.
- Constructed and fitted an office space,
kitchen, toilets, display showroom, loading bay and secure tool/ammunition
store to meet all health and safety and police regulations.
- Tiled all washroom areas and plumbed in
all sinks and toilets.
- Installed all cabling and sockets throughout
the build; including mood lighting and illuminated signage, plus
installation of fire and security alarms.
- Design and construction of bespoke circular
counter tops, racking and shelving at Tomax’ 3,918 sq ft
workshop.
- Fitting of all display surfaces and shelving.
- Fitting of all carpets and polysafe flooring
throughout store and loading areas.
- Construction/fitting of new shop frontages,
including alteration of cladding, and erection of illuminated
signage, grilles and shutters.
Client: Co-op Insurance Services.
Job specification: to refurbish all the common areas of Sunlight
House, Quay Street, Manchester (a circular structure) such as corridors
and staircases. Also update all electrical requirements at Speakers
House.
Timescale: eight months, working outside office hours
Tomax response:
Sunlight House -
- Fitted new suspended ceilings.
- Replaced all fire doors with contemporary
cherry veneered fire doors.
- Redecorated and carpeted all common areas.
Speakers House

- Fitted new occupational sensor lighting
in toilets – energy-saving automatic switch-off.
- Fitted suspended box of coloured LED lights
as design feature for entrance lobby.
- Installed modern, ambient lighting to reception
and stairs.
- Fitted state of the art computer floors where the cabling is
all concealed in slabs under the floors and contain sunken sockets
for all computer network connections
- Installed emergency lighting, fire alarms, car park lighting
and CCTV cameras
Client: Alexandra Park School, Stockport.
Job specification: Complete refurbishment of six infant and junior
toilet blocks, ensuring colour co-ordination (boys in light and
dark blue, girls in light and dark green).
Timescale: six weeks
Tomax response:
- Stripped out existing washrooms.
- Refitted rooms with polysafe flooring.
- Redecorated interior walls.
- Installed high-pressure laminate ‘privacy’
panels and swing doors to create cubicles.
- Supplied and plumbed in all the pot ware
(toilets, sinks etc.) using non-concussive taps - slow-release
before stopping automatically.
- Installation of new hand driers by electrician.
